Health Careers Advising

Meet with an Advisor

Health Careers Advising offers many different types of appointments and resources depending on where you are on your healthcare career journey.

What Kind of Appointment Do I Need?

Meet with our Health Career Peer Advisors. These are current students who are part of Brown’s Health Careers Advising team and can provide the perspective of a Brown undergraduate with experience as a health careers student.  The HCPAs hold drop-in hours throughout the semester so you can come and meet them to ask questions and just chat with them about their experiences as a health careers student at Brown. If you just have a quick question, can email them at hcpas@brown.edu.

Schedule a meeting with our individual health career advisors (listed on this page) to discuss your progress at Brown, your plans for a healthcare career and to ensure you are on the right track to be a successful applicant.

We have a variety of different types of appointments to support you in the application process.

* During the fall of your application year, we offer our regular individual advising appointments.

* During the spring of your application year, we offer a comprehensive advising appointment to review your written materials for the application. We also have a team writing specialists to help you write and edit your personal statement, activities for your application.

*After you apply, we offer a mock interview to provide feedback before your professional school interview.

More information about these applicant specific meetings will be provided in the Google Classroom for your applicant cycle.

We know that you have busy schedules and many responsibilities and so it can sometimes be difficult to find an open time for an appointment that matches your schedule. To aid you, we have created a series of informational videos to help you in your journey to a healthcare career.
