Health Careers Advising

Admission Statistics

Each year, hundreds of students and recent alumni from Brown University apply to medical school with the support of Health Careers Advising. A large majority - as high as 70% - apply upon completion of their Brown education or within a year. Although every applicant cohort varies, Brown graduates enjoy excellent success in the process; earning admission at a rate significantly higher than the national average.

Competition for medical school admission increases every year and the average age of successful applicants rises. The most comprehensive data about the medical school application process nationally is available on the FACTS page of the Association of American Medical Colleges.

The tables on this page provide an overview of Brown University and national medical school admissions data. Longitudinal data is presented as it becomes available. AAMC releases national data every spring.
