Student Groups

Participating in student groups can be an excellent way to build community, engage in leadership, develop knowledge, and make your time at Brown fulfilling. The clubs below all have a pre-health focus. 

AMWA is the Brown Premed Chapter of the national American Medical Women's Association dedicated to creating a community of female identifying premed students at Brown, providing mentorship from women in different stages of the medical profession journey, supporting equity and inclusion in the workforce, and finally, bringing awareness to women’s health issues like HPV screening, breast cancer, and GI health.

Our mission is to foster a sense of unity amongst Black pre-med students at Brown by offering an environment in which they can voice concerns and questions about pursuing health careers. Providing support, mentorship, and resources to students of the African Diaspora who are interested in pursuing health careers.

Global Medical Missions Alliance (GMMA) is a Christian Healthcare Professionals organization dedicated to missions locally and abroad. GMMA@Brown partners with other chapters at East Coast schools like Cornell, NYU, Binghamton, UVA, etc. to focus on medical missions; recent global destinations include Cambodia, Mexico, and Honduras. Local missions encompass serving hospitals, underserved communities, and refugees in Providence.

Healing through Harmony is a group of diverse Brown students dedicated to the healing process through music. We perform at assisted living facilities, senior centers, prisons, and hospitals throughout the greater Providence area. Our mission is to make a difference in others’ lives and to brighten their days, one song and dance at a time.

The purpose of Brown's Infectious Disease Society is to shed light on the interdisciplinary field of infectious diseases, falling at the intersection of medicine & global public health, governance & human rights, and the environment, affecting people around the globe on a day-to-day basis.

Queer People and Allies for the Advancement of Medicine (QPAAM) is a student group at Brown University dedicated to educating about and advocating for health care equality on behalf of frequently underserved LGBTQ populations. We work to advance the state of LGBT health and medical education both on-campus and in the community.
